The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • Identity Data – this includes first name, maiden name, last name, marital status, title, date of birth, gender, identifiers and usernames.

  • Contact Data – this includes billing address, home address, email address and telephone numbers.

  • Financial Data - this includes bank account, salary and income information, payment card details and any information about your other finances and assets that we need in order to provide legal services to you.

  • Sensitive Medical Data  - this includes health, medical and wellbeing data.

  • Transaction Data – this includes details about payments to and from you.

  • Technical Data - this includes internet protocol (IP) address, browser type and version,   operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access this website. 

  • Usage Data – this includes information about how you use our services. 


How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • direct interactions with us –information you give us by filling in forms, submitting via an online platform, or by corresponding with us by post, phone, email or otherwise. This includes personal data you provide when you instruct us to provide legal services and give us feedback or contact us. 

  • automated technologies or interactions - as you interact with our website, we will automatically collect technical data about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns.   • third parties or publicly available sources. We will receive personal data about you from various third parties and public sources as set out below including:

    • identity and financial data from your family members or from your professional advisors such as IFAs, as required to provide you with legal services.

    • identity and contact data from publicly available sources such as Companies House and the Electoral Register based inside the UK;

    • other representatives.

How we store your personal information 

Your information is securely stored.   We keep your personal data for a period of seven years for the lifetime of any Order of the court. We will then dispose of your information.


Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information. 

  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete. 

  • Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances. 

  • Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances. 

  • Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

  • You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
