Unmarried couples who wish to move in together may want to enter into a Cohabitation or Living Together Agreements setting out each person’s obligations, rights and entitlements upon commencing cohabitation and in the event of a separation. These agreements can be particularly helpful if one party owns the property the other party is moving into or when purchasing a property together if one party pays towards the purchase from sale of another property.
